Buffalo skyline watercolor painting of downtown at sunset. The sun is setting on this lovely view of Buffalo, New York. The painting is a mixture of watercolors, color pencils, and pen & ink. The watercolor pencils make for an interesting look to the painting for as you apply the water the tone bleed out of the pencil lines forming new tones that the artist can never be fully aware of but takes risks to see how it will turn out. It is always best to have very little water on the brush for the water will make the paint bleed too much and then you loose control of the work.
Color Pencil
A nice feature to this cityscape is the use of color pencil. The tones of the drawing are more replete when you offer rich texture to the paper. Color pencil is think and leaves it’s mark on the paper.
