Sean Pocewicz

Bar Patron

This drawing is a joy to behold, because it reminds me of the good times that I had at Hunter’s Nightclub, near Chicago. I would go there often, and draw portraits of the patrons, because I like to draw people live on the spot. I also would do bar scene drawings as well.

Rendering

In the rendering above is my pencil portrait of Sean Pocewicz, that I drew while I was at Hunter’s, because I was talking with him. I very much like this rendering, because the high contracting light, and dark bring out his character. The pencil was a dark Ebony pencil, because it has a bold dark line. He was a good sitter, because he let me capture the spirit in his face. In the background I have darkened the scene, because I wanted it to support the image.

Igor Highkin

Pencil Portrait

Igor Highin and I have known each other for a long time, because we would hangout out at Hunter’s in Elk Grove Village, Illinois. We are not close buds, but we moved in similar circles at the bar, because that was how people socialized at Hunter’s.

Pencil Drawing Of Igor Highkin #327Z

This drawing is one of my favorite bar scene sketches, because it turned out just the way I wanted it to. I clearly remember sitting down with Igor in the back patio at Hunter’s, because it was summer, and in the evening. Igor was facing me with his back to the main building, because there was better lighting there.

The Drawing

We were sitting on chairs adjacent the umbrella tables, because these had all the seats. I sat with him and commenced the drawing, because I thought that he was handsome.

The Spirit

The spirits were with me, because I clearly recall everything falling together. As I draw the entire work came together, and could not have taken more that 10 minutes to complete because I was totally engaged in the work. I first drew his face in outline form, and then commenced on the facial details, because the lighting was good.

Daniel Wynne

Pencil Portrait

In one of my favorite gay bars, Little Jim’s, in Boystown, Chicago, I had the opportunity to draw a young man, because it was his birthday. The atmosphere at Little Jim’s is always convivial, and friendly, because they work hard to make it that way. While we were talking he told me that it was his birthday, so I asked him if I could draw his portrait, because it was a birthday gift. I of course, have the original and gave Daniel a print for his birthday gift.

Pencil Drawing Of Daniel Wynne #321Z

The drawing is a live sitting so I have to be on top of the sitter to get all of his details, because the sitter is always moving. My pencil was a soft lead, because you can see the deep dark lines on the image.

Cowboy #320Z

Charcoal Pencil Portrait

This handsome young cowboy is wearing his 10-gallon hat, because it makes him look good. He is good looking and knows it, because men are the fair sex. The cowboy is a very prominent subject for macho role-play, and dominance, because cowboys are known to be rugged. Contrary to popular belief, men are more beautiful than women, because it is the rule of Nature. The large eyebrows, and beautiful eyes make this young man any girl’s dream come true, because he is handsome.

Pencil Drawing Of Cowboy #320Z

This drawing is done with charcoal pencil, because if offers a richer texture. The clinker material gives a very dark tone, because it is made from pitch. The background paper is a soft brown tone which compliments the clinker material, because of its rough surface. The shade, and shadows are made with a graduated movement of the pencil, because hatching lines are too grainy for the drawing. Shade, and shadows are darkest under his hat, and chin, because the light does not shine there.

Ramiro Osoria

Veteran

This pencil portrait is of one of my friends at the American Legion, because we have coffee every Wednesday morning. As usual I sit down with my coffee and draw, because this is how I record what is going on at the post. Ramiro was sitting at the table across from me, so I asked him if I could draw his portrait, because I wanted to do one on my birthday.

Pencil Portrait Of Ramiro Osoria #304Z

This portrait was drawn on my birthday, because I had a full day that day. I did this drawing quickly, because we did not have much time. I made use of contour lines to delineate his head, because he has handsome features. The background has what I call my “genius” lines, because they go back and forth all the up in the background of the drawing.

What Does It Mean To Be Gay?

Same Sex Oriented

To be gay, or same sex oriented is nature, healthy, and enriches male bonding, because it is the rule of Nature. Nothing is more natural in all of life than for men to check out other men, because they take interest in the beauty of the male body. If nature has put in you the desire for sex with other men that is good, because it is your nature.

The Locker Room

I swim a mile every day at LA Fitness, because I want to live a healthy, and fit life. When I get to LA Fitness, I go to the locker room like all men do, and change into my swim gear, because this is standard protocol. As with most male to male conversations in all locker rooms, the gentlemen keep the conversation “straight”, because they want to keep up the false veneer of “absolutely no interest whatsoever, in a million years, in the good looks of the guys undressing near me”, because they live in fear. Fear drives people to lie, and live a lie, because they have been swindled by social pressure. This is of course, reinforced with straight talk, and the bantering of macho phrases, because this is the mortar that holds together the brick house of the phony straight game.

Social Pressure

So rather than be yourself, and naturally look at another guy, and even compliment his good looks, which is now lost forever, because you are too busy keeping up the veneer of being straight. Just yesterday I was changing next to three handsome youths, and I again had the same experience, because they were playing the straight game.

False Show Of The Straight Game

As the third young man entered, and started to take off his underpants, he said to his other two friends, “Now this is going to get personal”, then immediately pulled off his underwear exposing is nudity, because he had to change. Upon the exposure of this young man’s genitals, one of his buddies threw himself against the lockers in the corner. He then looked up at the ceiling with all theatrical expertise, because he need to put on a show. He wanted to drive the point home that he had no interest whatsoever in his buddy’s penis. The other buddy glanced down, and looked at his friend’s penis, and then turned around 180 degrees immediately, because he had to make the show of no interest in his buddy’s penis as well.

Puke

If i had a puck next to me I would have puked, because the entire scene was such a joke. Worse, it was a sham to gay men, and male beauty, because all men are beautiful.

The Joke

The joke of it all is that the penis is a nothing, a non-entity that is not to be looked at, because it is flaccid. What should be looked at is the face, and sculptured torso, because these are the focal points of male beauty. People get all hot and bothered by a penis, because they do not understand human beauty, and sex. To be quite honest with you the penis does nothing for me, because it has no structure.

living The Lie

I will not live the lie, because I am a man of the truth. I will not set up a false scene to make a false point to others on account of my sexual identity, because I am a man of the truth. This applies to being straight or gay, because the truth with set you free!

Pencil Drawing

Above is my pencil drawing of two gay men preparing to kiss, because that have sexual attraction to each other.

Bottom Line

To be gay is to be natural, because it is the rule of nature. It is a freedom to be yourself, and not live the lie like countless other, because you know the truth. To be gay is to naturally bond with other males, because you share the same values. Above all to be gay is positive, and enriching, because you know who you are and what you are.

Happy Halloween!

Night Of Evil

Halloween is truly the night of evil, because it is the day before All Saints Day. For centuries the Church held people in terror, because of the image of Satan. Though no one have ever seen Satan, he is greatly feared by Christians, because they are not ware of him.

Pencil Drawing

Above is my pencil drawing of Satan as a bull, because he is evil. He is now on the prowl for you, because you will be his. The lead is a HB, and an Ebony charcoal pencil, because it make very dark lines. The hatching, and cross-hatching, have greatly strengthened the intensity of the portrait of Satan.

Evil Lurks

Satan Prowling

It is now Halloween, and Satan is on the prowl for the blood of the innocent, and the souls of the feeble, because he is all that is evil. Do not be fooled, because when you think that Satan is a myth, he is at your door. The mind of Satan never stops, but is ever vigilant to the right moment for when he can strike, because he knows that you are weak, and unaware.

Terror

As you run in the dark, lost in the night, your heart is beating, and terror has it’s hold on you, because at any moment you will be in the very claws of Satan!

Pencil Drawing

In my pencil drawing above of Satan, I have cast him as a bull stalking in the darkness, with his legions, because he is hungry for souls. The background is dark, and he is holding his staff, because it heralds his presence.

The Moment

The First Kiss

They did not know that they were gay until the moment, because it was revealed to them. These two men were together working out some personal difference, because tensions were mounting. As the tension escalated, they looked into each others eyes, then grasped, and held each other firmly, because they knew that they were in love.

The Moment

There was no turning back, as they looked into each others eyes, closed them, then kissed, because they knew that they were in love.

Pencil Drawing With Prints & Scans

Above is my pencil drawing of this precious scene, because it calls me. I will always remember the day that I drew this marvelous picture, because I knew that I had captured a special moment.

The Rendering

I used different leads to work the contour lines along with the facial details, because this gives greater intensity to the image.

Faith Is A Game Of Dominos

A Case For The Mythology Of Religious Belief Systems

Faith in any religion is ultimately based on your belief in the actions of fellow believers, because you watch, and look up to them. It is impossible at all levels to believe in something that you do not know, because we are empirical beings. We look, watch, and test everything around us every day, all day long, because we are looking for security.

Church Members

When people attend church, they look around to see if the key members are there, and if they are in good decorum, because they are “Spiritual role models” of “our faith”. We take comfort in knowing that John and Jane Doe are here, showing that they also believe, because this gives you comfort in your doubts which continuously haunt you. Then you look at the next, the next, and finally the next, like a game of dominos, missing the point, because faith ultimately rests in you. Because you are the determinant of what is acceptable, and what is not. You are the one that judges to see if John, and Jane Doe are “Keeping the faith”, and showing “Steadfastness”. This faith is authored by you.

Theologians

Worst of all, is the unthinking task of reading the works of Theologians, because you think that they have the answers. Not one Theologian of any denomination or other Religion has any answers at all, because they are only providing you with opinions. I speak with authority because I am an Alumni of Trinity Evangelical Divinity School, in Deerfield, Illinois.

Swindlers

At best Theologians are swindlers, because they want you to think that they know, when in fact they do not, and all at your expense. They love to bury their work in Existentialism, and Post-structuralism, to masquerade the truth that they really do not know. When you keep pressing them to their point, they melt like the Wicked Witch of the West, because the honest questions that you ask are like the clean water on the witch, exposing the fact that they really offer nothing, and simply are washed away.

If you want to read anything sober, please read Michel Foucault, because he is at least honest and brilliant, a breath of fresh air. I have serious reservations about Paul Tillich. Father David Tracy is quite scholarly, and earnest, however he offers no solutions. I have read his books, Blessed Rage For Order, Analogical Imagination, and Plurality And Ambiguity, which are his three most noted works, because they address Theology in a current context. I have issues with his concept of “Limit Language”, and I was totally disappointed with his conclusion of Plurality And Ambiguity. Theologian Martin Marty is duplicitous from the get go. I put down his book “The Public Church”. As a member of the Arts Club of Chicago, I would see him often there, as well as the Fortnightly Club.

Perspective

Each Theologian comes to you with his baggage, or perspective, because he has his own agenda that he is trying to work out. If you know a mans agenda, you knew everything, because a man’s agenda bespeaks what he is about. Below is my perspective, the architectural rendering of the Loeb Mansion in Kenwood, Chicago.

As you can see from my architectural rendering below, I am a man of extreme precision, and exactitude, and I do not fool around. The same holds true for me in all things, because I am clear headed, exceedingly precise in my reasoning skills. I do not, and will not accept staggering amount of ethereal Philosophical jargon that modern Theology is infested with, because it offers nothing but smoke, and mirrors. Give to me something of substance, rationale, and I will listen, otherwise I wash my hands of it. I demand accuracy, and precision, and will accept nothing less.

One Theologian that I have to bring out is William Lane Craig, because all of his writings are worthless dribble. More repulsive than his books, especially “Reasonable Faith”, are his obnoxious, and arrogant manners. I one heard him “debate” with the brilliant Theologian, Gerd Ludemann. Dr. Ludemann was correct in all of his point, but the rude, and pontificating William Lane Craig, just kept on talking, not listening, or grasping anything of what Dr. Ludemann was saying, because he does not possess the intelligence to grasp it.

Bottom Line

The bottom line is that you can only have the faith that you choose to dispense, because the struggle with the search of finding the truth is ethereal. Therefore, do not look to others in your church or congregation, but look to yourself, because you are the house of faith. Faith is mythological, and you are the High Priest, because you, and you along are the only one that really knows, for it is all a priori. So, in the future, look to yourself, and not others, because you hold the real answers.
